July Theme Day: Reflections

It's the first of the month which means it must be Monthly Theme Day for all those City Daily Photo bloggers out there. This month's theme is Reflections.

I've chosen Ron Mueck's Mask Self Portrait which is on display at the moment in Brisbane's Gallery of Modern Art. Being a self portrait, it is by definition a reflection of the artist. I guess it would involve some self-reflection too. From an onlooker's point of view, I think all of his amazingly life-like sculptures reflect and provoke reflection in us all.

My other Ron Mueck posts are here, here and here

Amazing work! I hope to be able to see the exhibition when it comes to Christchurch later in the year.

Oh this is spectacular! I went back to your other posts about Ron Mueck's work, all are amazing!
Is he also the author of the larger than life pregnant woman I saw in Canberra? That was amazing too. I love his work.

Congratulations on your beautiful blog, I'm off for a tour of your other posts.

Amazing! Great shot for this "special" theme day.

I was looking for postings that are out-of-the box from the literal theme of reflection. Yours is brilliant! How come I didn't think of that???

Happy theme day!

Love your take on the word and the photograph. I saw a fascinating television programme about this artist and his work and it's fabulous although I'm not sure I could live with it - even if I could afford it.
