Mouse

This is my friend Mouse singing at his party last night. Besides teaching full time, he busks a lot around West End and provides musical entertainment for parties all over Brisbane. During a recent camping trip he played for 12 hours with only a 20 minute break! Definitely worth a blog post, I reckon.

What genre? Does he compose any of his stuff? Is he part Aboriginal?

Certainly worth a post after that effort.

He knows a lot of Irish folk, plenty of rock and roll 1960's to about 2000, old Aussie songs...stuff you can sing along to (unless you're a teenager.) and also some very funny little musical poems. No Aboriginal in him that I know of. He is part Filipino, I think. Not sure about composing his own stuff but he is very good at improvising (music and words).

That's funny. I just finished reading a book where one of the characters was called Mouse. A surfie in Honolulu etc. Back in the 70's I think (ficton). The book is by Di Morrisey and it is called The Islands.

When too much music is never enough!

I was at that marathon music session - fantastic but I just couldn't last the distance! Too old, too drunk, too tired!

Bravo Mouse!
