Lady In Red At GoMA

Brisbane's Gallery of Modern Art is very minimalist in design - lots of clean, straight lines in dark and neutral colours. The new trees that surround it provide an interesting contrast - especially with the long winter shadows... but it was the red coat that caught my eye. I wish it had been more in focus!

If you look at it, it looks a bit like she has no head...!

Red is great in photos. I like a lot of this but wonder why it is quite so dark overall. Did you take it on auto or set your own? Remember the duckpond concept? I would have dp-ed to the right keeping the colums but bringing her coat in a bit more ... but still there is a lot to like in this ...

Yes I see what you mean. The reason for the framing was that I was experimenting with the corridor. I included her as a bit of an afterthought. The levels were all on P as I couldn't see much on my LCD with the glare of the sun.

Yes, I noticed can't see the head of the lady. The afternoon sun brought a lot of shadows in your pic.

i like this alot - the headless lady off on one side gives it a bit of a surrealist/magritte kind of touch..
