
According to the 2006 census, there are about 1.8 million residents of Brisbane (lots more now, I'd say). Since I moved here in August 2005, about 153,000 others have too. As I am still on a break from work, I have done the maths for you - it's about 860 a week... which makes it the fastest growing city in Australia. The traditional quarter-acre block with a
Queenslander on it is becoming a rarity with the blocks being divided as the population multiplies. I like this block of apartments because of the sheer scale of it.
By the way - I'm back from my time away at the
Woodford Folk Festival which is about 80kms north of Brisbane. I have been debating with myself as to whether I should post a picture from there as so many people from Brisbane travel there each year. Everywhere you look there's a photograph waiting to happen... but I have decided to be a purist. Brisbane only!
