The iconic pub The Regatta Hotel sits on Coronation Drive in Toowong. It's been 9 months since the floods and the ground floor still remains closed while they rebuild. You can pop in for a drink or something to eat, though, as the first floor is open.
By the way - you can't see it very well in this shot but the jacarandas are in bloom again. Expect some purple here soon!

Sydney - City and Suburbs
Thank you, I can't wait for the purple!
Um! I'm back -can't help myself it seems.
The Regatta Hotel has been the scene of much history - I like:
Once upon a time in Queensland, women were not allowed to enter public bars and so in 1965, in a display of feminism Merle Thornton (mother of "famous" Oz actress Sigrid) and friend chained themselves to the public bar - it took much publicity and several more years to revoke this law.
Amazing now!
