Frangipani In The Summer Rain
Frangipani trees are blooming everywhere in Brisbane at the moment. Even though their flowers drop, they are still perfect, and you often find little carpets of them when you walk down the street. They look, feel and smell sensational! And a tasty hair accessory also.

Ahhh - my earliest floral memory is sitting in the frangipani tree in our backyard, and the delightful bouquet that went with it.

Thanks for all your wonderful photos, they are really wonderful and truly evocative of Brisbane..it is like reading a David Malouf book!
I am so glad I stumbled across your blog...so good to see one's own home city through the eyes of a visitor! (well a long time visitor..resident?

ps I am always photographing my frangipanis...and others! They are always so wonderful when it is raining!
Thanks for all the positive feedback!
What a beautiful photo!
These are beautiful flowers and you captured them nicely
That is gorgeous. Wonderful.
Mine are slowly coming back to life. The will bloom in about 4-6 weeks. Love the pink one's the most;have a sweeter scent.
I just love frangipanis! We don't have them here so I brought two cuttings from Burma; one died but the other adapted quite well and strated to grow. The problem is it grew too much to be on my balcony so it is now on a friend's garden and has bloomed for the first time last summer. The flowers look exactly the same as the ones on your photo, white and yellow.
