Last night, one of the local bookshops in West End invited anyone who took photos of the floods to print out their photos, frame them and put them into an exhibition. The idea was to sell them off and donate the proceeds to the flood appeal...
There was a huge response with all sorts of great photos and styles...
I got five of mine framed and put in - you can see three of them here with the sludgy-coloured mounting...
People squashed in, took a look at the photos and got out their wallets. I couldn't believe how quickly things sold - it was a huge success!

Brilliant. There's some wonderful shots there. The top one with the yellow sticker looks like somewhere in South East Asia. Can't believe what's happening at the moment. Cyclone, floods and a heatwave. Just checked the SMH site and its 39 in Sydney at the moment. God knows what it is out west.

I add to what Ann has said. I gather in the West of Sydney it is 41C. But also, what is happening in Victoria - including Melbourne! And looking at the BoM Radar they are really really gonna cop it as today wears on and Yasi's tail flips around.
We will need all our patience and consideration in the months ahead.
And tehe exhibition, Cara. As you know, I think it is a wonderful idea. It does not surprise me in the least that they were snapped up like that!
It was a wonderful idea and even better that the prints were sold quickly. There are a lot of generous people in Australia, both with their wallets and their time. Congratulations to all concerned.
