December the 1st marked the first day of Summer here in Brisbane. It hasn't stopped raining since then and today is no exception. So this one, taken back in May, is for those Brisbane residents who may have forgotten what a blue sky looks like. And for my family back in London who are probably a bit more cheesed off with their weather right now than I am with mine.

Do you miss having snow at Christmas? As a child, all the stories that I read about Christmas invariably (in those days) included all sorts of snowy things involving sleigh rides, snowmen, etc. Santa was even towed around on a sled by reindeer and came down the chimney.
Most Brisbane houses don't have chimneys and snow is very hard to find! As a result, I always felt slightly ripped off at not experiencing "Christmas".
Lovely image BTW :-)
Ah yes.. well from the POV of another Londoner, that looks like heaven on earth right there. Though today hasn't been so bad.. I would still seriously consider giving up my left leg to be on that shore in that sun.
Another lovely shot, as always!
tff, I don't think there were too many white Christmases for me growing up so I don't really associate Christmas with snow. Frost and icy cold, yes. I can't really get my head around a hot Christmas. It just doesn't feel right. There's no proper excuse for sitting inside and stuffing your face with rich food.
Jon, thanks for visiting!
That's got to be the bluest water I've ever seen. Great perspective. Since we get gray, rainy days for months here in Portland, I like to post sunny, blue-sky days whenever I can.
Wonderful blues.
Just so lovely - even for a Queenslander!
What time of day?
Great shot. Have fun taking in the sun!
This one was taken at 8.47am, May 30th according to my picture metadata. It was a perfect almost-winter day as I remember. Temperature was about 20 degrees.
great colour in this shot!
