River of Rain

I know... more rain photos. But I wanted to show you what is normally a dry creek bed at the bottom of Mt. Coot-tha. It's been raging for days with our recent rainwater. Luckily Brisbane has been relatively spared so far and we haven't seen anything like that freak deadly flood in Toowoomba yesterday. Most houses remain dry so far and fingers crossed that's the way it's going to stay.

Been watching the news from Queensland over the last few days. Hard to imagine all that water.

It is scary to see the pictures, hope you can keep away frome the tragedy. It is in the news here every day on tv.

How are you coping up there? Last night on the news they were talking about the possibility of flooding in Brisbane. Take care.

Unfortunately Brisbane is not going to be so lucky. After the downpours of yesterday and this morning, and with the extra releases from Wivenhoe dam, major suburbs of Caboolture , Srathpine and West End have been told to evacuate ahead of the flood waters coming down the river. Stay safe.

My friend lives just outside Brisbane to the southeast. She told me yesterday that people in Brisbane have been advised to move any valuables to high places and be ready for floodwaters from the dam.
I certainly hope it doesn't get that bad, and if it does, that everyone will be safe. Take care.

We live just up from the river in West End and are expecting to take on water at some point in the next day or two. Luckily we have plenty of warning and good friends to rely on!
Thanks to all for your kind words of concern.
