Here's one of the painted traffic signal boxes outside the fire station on Roma Street. Many of the boxes around Brisbane are site-specific, particularly if they are near a landmark. This one was painted by Mark Makhoul.
If you are interested in Brisbane's painted traffic signal boxes there's an interesting 5 minute film about them here.

Nice one, Cara! For over two years I have been collecting artistic traffic controllers and transformers in Auckland (hope to put a few on my blog in due course). I like the way they brighten up intersections and neighbourhoods. Nice to see your extensive lineup of boxes. Cheers! Thanks also for the youtube link.
This one seems to have a fair dose of artistic flair!
And wit ...
That'a a funny one. We have the poles painted in Logan as well.
@diane - my son and me love your poles! see my very first post for my favorite traffic box ever.. and it's in Logan (oops, while my blog is about the Redlands..).
@cara - that's a very cool one indeed. keep them coming!
