His and Hers Queenslanders

Queenslander houses, made mostly from wood, are about as fire-prone and termite-prone as houses can get, they're hot in the summer, chilly in the winter with no soundproofing... but it doesn't stop Queenslander people being fiercely loyal to them. You don't really see them being built any more but there are thousands around town in various states of repair from lovingly restored to falling apart. No matter where they are on the scale, they really have an unmistakeable character and charm.

Thanks so much Carol and Shaker!

Johnny- Lo siento, mi Espanol es muy mal! En Ingles:

It depends where the house is and if it is rented. Much like any other dwelling, you get all sorts of people living in them.

Thanks for visiting!

Actualy they used to be built up off the ground for airflow...to make them cooler in summer....and well, Queensland doesn't really have much of a winter now, does it, really?

Yes, not particularly fireproof or termite proof, grant you that!

I've been hopping, skipping, and jumping around photo blogs and managed to find yours. (Either through Julie's or through Dublin's Daily one; I forget now). Anyway, I absolutely love this picture! The colors are so vivid, and it exhibits a somewhat-claustrophobic coziness.
