A Stitch in Time...

There is this debate that ebbs and flows in south-east Queensland about whether or not we should have daylight saving. The longest day (yesterday) saw the sun rise over the city of Brisbane at 4.50am and set at 6.42pm. In my opinion if we shunted everything an hour forward it would be a lot more civilised. We'd fall into line with New South Wales, just south of us, I wouldn't get woken up by crows going nuts at ungodly hours of the morning and, most importantly, I'd arrive home from work with enough daylight to have a sundowner in the back garden.
I read somewhere recently that one woman was against it because the extra hour of sunlight in the afternoons would fade her curtains.

Beautiful light captured in this photo. I am opting for 2 hours daylight savings to make it really civilised. Just think how much we will get done after work hmmmm...could even go to the beach and back before it gets dark.

2 hours? Count me in.

It's not the faded curtains that cause the ruckus any longer. Apparently the extra hour of sunlight will give us all skin cancer!

sounds a sensible idea to me (even double) but being sensible never seems to be a deciding factor in such issues.

This made me laugh. I remember hearing that comment on the radio when I lived in Cairns. Nice shot.
