Take Me Home...

Last Saturday I ventured out to Kangaroo Point for a free festival called the Home Festival. It was a great day out with loads to do and see. Here's a few shots...

Me too. I think they were plastic mouldings, Al.

Actually I was one of the collectors at the Pop-Up Museum!!!!!! Woot! :D You photographed my book!!! :D Thank you so much I'm so lost for words to have a piece show up on your blog! Did you read the Altered Book? It was about how I got into collecting books and became a writer and blogger... and why I collect. :D

The lady who collected the owls did the casts of them in plastic moulds and got her husband to put the hook in as soon as she poured the plaster. But their dogs kept wanting to eat the leftover plaster that fell on the ground (weird animals!) I think it was because it tasted nice to them and had a good smell to them... dunno, but she had to lock them away while she worked. Anyway, she got about half of them done up and painted in a week and the other half the next few weeks...

I also had pages hanging in a tree nearby where they were taken from an old book or two - which I had bought at a thrift store - painted them up, put a word or two or a line about why I love books and reading and then laminated them (to protect them against the weather) and strung them up with fishing line.
I was the redhead dressed in all black wearing Doc Martens. Again I'm so proud you took photos of my book and the photos of the owls of the Pop-Up Museum! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! :D

Mozette, it was a pleasure. I really enjoyed your book and read it through. It was a wonderful little area with the cushion to relax on and the ipod to listen to.

Cara,

That part of the exhibition was from a young lady who loves Darren Hayes. Unfortunately, she was unable to make it to the Home Festival, but we put her part of the show in and I slotted my book in for people to read while they listened to the tunes on the ipod. It worked out so well.

I'm so happy you loved the way we had laid out; and more and more people took a load off their feet as the afternoon wore on... it was a great day for it; such wonderful weather! :D
