Santos City Of Lights last night

As part of the Brisbane Festival, there is a laser show to music every night at South Bank. There are huge searchlights that fly around, laser beams from the tops of buildings and laser images projected into the spray of water canons on the river. Not as exciting as Riverfire but if you are in the area, it's worth a look. The best place to see it is between Victoria Bridge and the Goodwill Bridge.  There are free shows every night until the 24th. Times are here.

By the way - last night I committed the cardinal sin of photographers and ventured out without realising I had a low battery. My spare battery was sitting in the charger at home so my camera died about 3 minutes into the show. D'oh! Another lesson learned.

Lovely shot. You only do that once. I did it on Easter Island, a place I'm not likely to go back to, and lost my only chance to photograph most of the main sites on the island. Now have 3 batteries. 1 in, 1 spare, 1 charging.

Thank goodness you got this shot in before it zapped out, it's brilliant. Apart from the city skyline and reflections I really like the action on the shore line, other photographers at work.

You have some outstanding photos as I cruise around your blog. The "mirror ball" reflections are also great shots. Happy spring Down Under.

Thanks for the night time light show photo Cara. It's really beautiful, and lots of fun looking for all the light. I like the green lights in the water spray that's also reflected on the water surface.

Like Perthdailyphoto, I also noticed all the other photographers on shore right away. What an interesting shot all around.

Yay! Just the kind of shot I need to inspire me to get out and about with my camera again. This is really fabulous, Cara. Great job to step back from the shore and get the audience in. i really love this one.
