Something pretty big happened in Australian politics yesterday; the prime minister Kevin Rudd was ousted from power in a bloodless coup that surprised pretty much everyone - even him. This was taken where I work during his emotional exit speech. He has to pause several times to regain his composure.
It's widely believed his proposed tax on mining profits was his downfall.

Thank you very much for that. It's hard while in France to follow Australian politics. I enjoyed your personal view of it.
But you didn't even mention Julia Gillard? What do you make of her?
Hmmmm... I'm reserving judgement on that one! I wasn't a big fan of how she came to power. Perhaps she'll prove she did the right thing in the end.. I'm waiting and seeing!
