Mount Nebo Open Mic Night
Over the weekend, I went up to visit friends in Mount Nebo, a small mountain community north west of Brisbane. Once a month they have an open mic night. Everyone is welcome to join in... music, comedy, poetry or whatever you're good at...bring a plate of food to share and your own drinks and settle in for the night - great fun! Just remember to rug up - it's freezing up there.

I suspect 'freezing' is relative.
That would be my sort of night. I like to see what people are good at and to applaud them. I used to be part of a choir but stopped because I thought I was not good enough. They keep inviting me to attend their performances and I did for a while. However, when I invited them to be my blog readers, not one of them took up the invitation. They could not understand the equivalence.
Intersting shot, looks like a painting or a poster.
I say freezing... ok it was probably between 5 and 10 degrees. You could see your breath - that's pretty cold isn't it?
The effect comes from the single low-level red light that shone on the performers and a 2 second hand-held exposure. Complete fluke. I'm still pretty unsure of myself when it comes to shooting inside at night.
It may have been pretty cold - but this shot is pretty cool, fluke or not!
Just found your blog and loving it. Looking forward to following your future adventures.
