Sunrise From The Sunroom



It was a source of some confusion when I arrived in "the sunshine state". Sunrooms in all the traditional Queenslander houses. Why would you want a sunroom? It's bloody boiling!

I've been convinced however that these low-ceilinged rooms surrounded by windows are great for maximising the winter sun - and very eco-friendly. Unfortunately I don't live in a Queenslander house and don't have a sunroom but my friend Sandra does - and she took this picture of the sunrise last week from the comfort of it. Not a bad view to wake up to, eh?

    Amazing sunset!!! I love all the crepuscular rays pouring out of the top of the clouds. The color is sensational.

    Yes, the sunrooms are great in winter. I have to go out of my house to get warm in winter!

    Annie - it was pure luck! I had to be out of the house by 5.45am so I was up at 5.25 and posted at 5.30... it came as a lovely surprise to be first.. it was like winning a raffle or something!
