Friends of ours were overseas when they eventually found out their house had been flooding. Not the upstairs living bit but the downstairs bit with all the stuff that you put under the house.... like a lifetime of photos...
Last night we cleaned them up and laid them out to dry.
They were everywhere, these precious moments...
Spread out, covering every available surface in every available room...

I don't know what I'd do if that happened - I'd be gutted. Fabulous post.
ReplyDeleteThat would be so stressful.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very STRONG posting!
ReplyDeleteI do feel sorry for them/ for you!:(
Great job, fantastic post!
ReplyDeleteA life laid bare ... washed, dried and ready for another turn around the dance floor.
ReplyDeleteOne good turn ...
Oh my god Cara, what a task. will they survive? It is amazing the length people are going to to save precious things - even very odd precious things. Tomorrow I am going to post a couple of stories about things i saw over the past week. One of them was 85 year old Mary from down near the sailing club wqho was retrieving stuff from the footpath which her son thought was junk.
ReplyDeleteHope the photo's will survive, terrible to loose such memories.
ReplyDeleteVery hard time you show us. Incredible!
ReplyDeleteYour photos from all these photos are outstanding.
