Wednesday was a public holiday in Brisbane metropolitain area for the "Ekka". It's an annual agricultural show and carnival that people get quite excited about.
I've got one of those silly jobs where public holidays mean nothing... so I was up really early on Wednesday while the majority of Brisbane slept in. As you can see, it wasn't a bad consolation prize. The skies are starting to lighten earlier each day and the morning air is losing its bite.

A truly beautiful, wonderful prize! Very lovely.
ReplyDeleteIts more like a first prize photo to me. I hope you got to go to the ekka on another day.
ReplyDeleteilove brisbane's skies in the winter, great photo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky. It would be even better if you could have watched it from your patio with a cup of coffee or tea.
ReplyDeleteThat is some consolation prize, a winner to me. Phenomenal. I have worked in my younger days Christmas and New year in a very silly job. Never again. I do not envy you public hols working.
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible shot of a truly gorgeous sky! Fantastic colors!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and for your comment, always appreciated!
Cheers!

Great shot Cara
ReplyDeleteOh my. What a glorious way to start your day. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and I have to leave a comment and say how much I love it!
As a newbie to Brisbane (and Australia - I moved here from Sweden, 9 months ago) I am really happy to have found your lovely photos showing the city I now call home. Thanks!
Gorgeous! And, well worth the early rising.
ReplyDeleteNice sky and shot.
ReplyDeleteSome fantastic colours. I wish Melbourne's sky would start turning these colours soon. I'm tired of the greys!
ReplyDeleteI thought that was sunset until I read your text. Sometimes the dawn does compensate for getting up early. Not sure it would compensate for not getting a public holiday.
ReplyDeleteWow from silhouette to stripe to blank space to puffy dots all in one sky! Great shot. And I so loved the language lesson on "o" from yesterday.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful and lovely shot !! Fantastic colors !! Thanks for sharing..Unseen Rajasthan
ReplyDeleteAmazing sky - just awesome
ReplyDeleteGorgeous clouds!!! I will soon be seeing sunrises again, too. Summer is drawing to a close, and in a couple of months, sunrise will be after the alarm goes off at 7 AM.
